Going through a spiritual awakening is already a powerful, life-changing experience—but going through one while raising children? That’s a whole different level of intensity.
If you’re in the thick of it—navigating emotional upheavals, heightened intuition, soul shifts, and the Dark Night of the Soul—all while trying to keep little humans alive and happy, you are not alone.
Here’s how to move through this sacred transformation with grace, self-compassion, and support, even with the demands of parenting.

1. Cut Yourself a Huge Amount of Slack
You are undergoing THE biggest transformations of your life. This is not the time to expect perfection—in parenting, in housekeeping or even in your spiritual practice.
If you need to meditate, take the time.
If you need to let some things go at home, let them go.
If you need to cry or rest or be still, do that too.
You’re not just “going through something”—you are becoming something new.
2. Schedule Yourself As Much “Me Time” As Possible (Then Add More)
Even if it’s 10 minutes of silence before your kids wake up or a solo walk during nap time, prioritize your peace. Your children will feel the shift in your energy.
Use this time to:
• Rest your body
• Journal or reflect
• Meditate or pray
• Connect with your higher self
A spiritually grounded parent creates a more stable environment for their children—even if dinner is frozen pizza and laundry piles up for a bit.
3. Ask for Support—Assertively
This is not a time to do it all on your own. You are being divinely guided and supported, but also: ask your human circle for help. Your soul has orchestrated the timing and circumstances of your awakening - trust that help and support with be provided.
Whether it’s your partner, a friend, a neighbor, or a relative—reach out. Be clear about what you need. People often want to help but don’t know how. Give them the opportunity.
4. Join a Supportive Online Community
You are not alone in this. There are so many people walking this path of spiritual awakening—many of them parents too.
Join an online group, forum or social space where you can share openly, ask questions, and feel seen. Being witnessed in your process can be incredibly healing.
5. Find a Mentor You Resonate With
Whether it’s a coach, healer or spiritual teacher—having guidance from someone who has walked this path before can be life-changing and extremely reassuring.
Even if you’re not ready to work with someone one-on-one, watching their YouTube videos, reading their blogs or following them on social media can help you feel less alone and more grounded.
6. Connect to Your Inner Guidance—and Trust It
You already have the wisdom inside of you. Make space to listen.
Write down the messages you receive through dreams, meditations, or moments of clarity. Notice the signs and synchronicities. Your soul is speaking—and it knows the way.
7. Involve Your Kids When You Can
Spiritual awakening doesn’t have to be separate from parenting. Depending on their ages, you can gently share bits of your journey.
• Older children may understand concepts like energy, emotions or intuition.
• Younger children will absorb the energy of your calm presence, your meditation practice, your grounded way of handling life.
You’re teaching them, by example, how to honour their emotions, listen to their inner voice and stay connected to themselves.
8. The Importance of Grounding (Especially When You’re a Parent)
One of the most overlooked yet essential parts of navigating a spiritual awakening—especially as a parent—is grounding. When your energy feels scattered, your emotions are heightened, or you’re having intense realizations, grounding is what brings you back into your body and into the present moment.
With kids around, staying grounded isn’t just helpful—it’s vital. Children are deeply sensitive to our energy, and when we’re ungrounded, they often feel it too. They may act out, become more emotionally reactive, or seem unsettled without even knowing why. Grounding helps you stay anchored in your role as a calm, safe space for them—even when your inner world is shifting.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. A few ways to ground yourself during the chaos of awakening include:
• Walking barefoot on grass or earth
• Breathing slowly and deeply with one hand on your heart and the other on your belly
• Taking a shower or bath with the intention of clearing energy
• Doing simple tasks like folding laundry, cooking, or stretching mindfully
• Speaking out loud what you’re feeling to bring awareness back into your body
